Hyundai has officially launched the Ioniq 6 N, its first electric sports sedan marking a major step forward for the automaker’s high-performance EV lineup. First unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, the Ioniq 6 N is built to “redefine the EV driving experience” with a mix of cutting-edge performance, new control software, and everyday practicality.
At the heart of the Ioniq 6 N is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain that produces up to 609 horsepower (448 kW) and 740 Nm of torque. For drivers seeking maximum performance, an N Grin Boost mode temporarily increases output to 650 horsepower (478 kW) and 770 Nm of torque.

This allows the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds. The sports sedan is powered by an 84 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 291 miles (469 km) on the WLTP cycle. Hyundai fine-tuned the system for efficiency, high power output, and thermal management to handle demanding driving conditions.
Hyundai also equipped the Ioniq 6 N with several advanced handling technologies, including electronically controlled suspension (ECS), front Hydro G bushings, and rear dual-layer bushings for greater precision on the road. The model introduces fun, driver-focused features such as N e-Shift, which simulates gear shifting, and N Active Sound+, designed to mimic the experience of a gas-powered engine. Hyundai emphasizes that while the Ioniq 6 N delivers track-ready performance, it is also engineered to provide a comfortable ride for daily use.

Dimensionally, the Ioniq 6 N measures 4,935 mm long, 1,940 mm wide, and 1,495 mm tall, placing it close to the Porsche Taycan in size but at about half the cost. In South Korea, pricing starts at 79.9 million won (around $57,000) before subsidies. Hyundai plans to launch the sedan in Europe by late 2024 and in the U.S. in early 2026, where it is expected to be priced slightly lower than the Ioniq 5 N, which currently starts at $66,200.
As Hyundai continues to expand its EV lineup, the Ioniq 6 N showcases the brand’s ability to combine thrilling performance with advanced electric mobility. With its competitive pricing, powerful specifications, and global rollout ahead, the Ioniq 6 N is set to become one of the most compelling entries in the growing market for electric sports sedans.
