VinFast and Electrify America (EA) have just signed a partnership to provide charging facilities at this year’s New York International Auto Show.
With this partnership, Vinfast car owners in the US can access more than 3,500 EA charging stations via the VinFast mobile app.
VinFast is currently set to open a headquarters in Los Angeles in addition to plans to start electric vehicle production in North Carolina.
In addition to two free 60 kWh charging sessions, Electrify America has stated VinFast owners can also take advantage of membership discounts on its network.
In addition to free charging, VinFast owners will be able to more easily find any of EA’s 800 charging stations in the US using the VinFast app.
This initial agreement with VinFast is arguably quite small compared to some of the charging agreements that Electrify America has entered into with other electric vehicle manufacturers.
For example, consumers who buy a 2022 BMW EV get a free 30-minute charging session for two years. Buyers of the Kia EV6 get 1,000 kWh of free charging, as long as it has a range of 3,500-4,000 miles.
