The Wuling Hong Guang Mini EV Gameboy Edition can be purchased by pre-order since March 9. 30,000 units have been ordered until mid-April 2022.
Previously, since it was first launched in July 2020, the Wuling Hong Guang Mini EV has become the electric car with the most sales, with 600,000 units in China.
According to this Chinese car manufacturer, the Gameboy special edition is a continuation of the Wuling Hong Guang Mini EV Macaron which is targeted at female consumers. As for the Gameboy special edition, it is more towards male consumers.
It seems that the Wuling Hong Guang Mini EV Gameboy Edition’s target is right on target. The reason is, of the 30,000 that have been ordered, 77 percent of the consumers are men.

For information only, this special edition electric car is offered in 4 variants, namely Hurricane Phantom, Jungle Traveler, Star Rover, and Party Sweetheart. All of these variants use a 3.3 kW battery with a 30 kW electric motor.
Each variant is offered in several characteristics, such as the Hurricane Phantom which combines a matte black color with red stickers and accents, then the Jungle Traveler who paints the MINI EV with a camo green color that looks inspired by military-themed games.
Furthermore, there is the Party Sweetheart variant which provides a combination of brown and beige colors, making the car look sweet. And the last one is the Star Rover, which makes this Wuling electric car look futuristic with a combination of white, black, and gray accents.
Regarding the price, the Wuling Hong Guang Mini EV Gameboy Edition is offered in two versions, namely the 200 km range priced at $8709 and the 300 km version priced at $10869.
