Electrify America said it expanded its electric vehicle charging network in 2025, surpassing 5,600 chargers across North America while upgrading more than 1,100 units to next-generation technology.

The company said its latest DC fast chargers can deliver up to 350 kW and that two large-format stations featuring more than 20 chargers each were opened in California during the year. Electrify America reiterated that it is investing a total of $2 billion in zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure.

On the usage side, drivers completed more than 20 million charging sessions in 2025, a 21% increase compared with the previous year. Total energy delivered through the network rose 26% year-on-year, exceeding 750 gigawatt-hours (GWh), according to the company.

In May 2025, Electrify America announced plans to expand its charging network by 30% by year-end. Based on the approximately 4,800 public chargers installed by the end of 2024, such growth would imply a target of around 6,240 chargers. With the network now reporting more than 5,600 chargers, the company appears to have fallen short of that implied figure.

Electrify America said it is focusing on technology upgrades and innovation, highlighting the deployment of upgraded charging stations as part of what it described as “future-minded work.” The company also integrated its network with Google Maps to provide real-time charging information and expanded its partnership with Simon Property Group, opening 105 charging hubs at retail locations.

“As we approach our 10-year anniversary, I think about the millions of drivers who have shaped Electrify America into what it stands for today. Our year-over-year growth isn’t just a sign of a strong company; it reflects a growing community of EV drivers who believe in an electric future — and we’re honored to be their charging provider along the way,” said Robert Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America.
