BYD’s premium brand Denza has unveiled the all-electric Denza Z at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom, marking the European debut of the brand’s first two-door electric supercar.
According to Denza, the model is the first Chinese-developed electric supercar to enter the European market.
The Denza Z will be offered in three variants. The Coupe is priced at £142,900, while the Spider convertible starts at £159,900. A track-focused Racing version will be available from £172,900.
Pre-orders in the United Kingdom are scheduled to begin in October, with first customer deliveries expected before the end of 2026.
In China, pre-orders will open on July 13 ahead of a market launch in the fourth quarter.
Tri-Motor Performance
The Denza Z is powered by a tri-motor electric drivetrain consisting of one front motor and two rear motors.
The system delivers a combined peak output of 1,180 kW (1,582 horsepower), with the Racing variant capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.96 seconds and reaching a top speed of 350 km/h.
The Coupe completes the same sprint in 2.25 seconds, while the Spider requires 2.3 seconds. Both models have electronically limited top speeds of 300 km/h.
Advanced Vehicle Technology
The Denza Z is equipped with BYD’s first fully in-house developed steer-by-wire system, eliminating the traditional mechanical steering connection.
The model also debuts the company’s DiSus-M intelligent magnetorheological suspension system for new energy vehicles, which adjusts damping force in less than 10 milliseconds.
Built on BYD’s e3 platform, the supercar combines three independent drive motors with independent rear-wheel steering.
Power is supplied by a second-generation Blade Battery using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. The battery provides 76 kWh of usable capacity and an estimated driving range of 254 miles (409 kilometers) for the Coupe variant.
Nürburgring Development Program
Designed by Wolfgang Egger, whose previous work includes the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, the Denza Z measures less than 4.8 meters in length, making it the smallest vehicle in the Denza lineup.
The company said the model has entered a lap-time development program at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit.
Once launched, the Denza Z is expected to compete with high-performance models including the Porsche 911 and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra as Denza expands into the premium electric sports car segment.
