Decathlon has introduced the Rockrider E-EXPL 900 26-inch electric mountain bike for children in several European markets, including the Netherlands, Spain and France. Unveiled at the Roc d’Azur 2024 cycling event, the model is aimed at riders aged 9 to 12 and features a compact design with components tailored for younger users.
The e-bike is equipped with a 250-watt rear hub motor from Mahle, offering up to 40 Nm of torque. Riders can choose from three assistance modes—Eco, Standard and Boost—via an LED handlebar display, which also shows battery level. A built-in cadence sensor supports smoother motor engagement, while the 250 Wh battery enables a claimed assistance range of up to 80 km.
The Rockrider E-EXPL 900 includes a RockShox Judy front suspension fork with 80 mm of travel and 26-inch Hutchinson Toro tires designed for off-road use. The 9-speed drivetrain is paired with hydraulic disc brakes for improved stopping performance. The bright green aluminum frame keeps the total weight at approximately 16 kg.
The Rockrider E-EXPL 900 is now available for purchase at €1,799.99 in multiple countries across Europe. Decathlon has not confirmed if or when the model will be introduced to the UK market.
