Chinese automaker Geely has begun exporting its best-selling electric pickup, the Radar R6, to international markets as it seeks to establish its presence in the global new energy vehicle (NEV) truck segment. Marketed overseas under the “Riddara” brand, the R6 has already reached over 50 countries, including regions in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Originally launched in 2022 as part of Geely’s outdoor-focused electric vehicle brand Radar, the R6 quickly rose to become the top-selling electric pickup in China. Based on Geely’s SEA platform, which also underpins the Volvo EM90 minivan, the Radar R6 is available with 63 kWh, 86 kWh, and 100 kWh battery packs, offering a maximum range of up to 632 kilometers (392 miles) on the CLTC cycle.

“The Radar R6 is more than just a pickup — it’s designed to drive like an SUV while offering true utility,” said Ling Shiquan, CEO of Geely Riddara, during a 2025 conference. Ling added that the company will enter a “new phase of global cooperation” this year as it targets sales of 30,000 units and aims to secure NEV pickup market leadership across its new territories.
With rear-wheel and all-wheel drive variants, the global model of the R6 features towing capabilities of up to 3,000 kilograms (6,600 pounds), water fording depth of 32.1 inches, and a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time of 4.5 seconds for the AWD version. While it trails the Tesla Cybertruck in towing capacity and acceleration, the R6 offers competitive range and pricing. The Cybertruck AWD version, for comparison, boasts an EPA-rated 325-mile range, 11,000-lb towing capacity, and 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds.
The Radar brand is also expanding its EV pickup lineup. In China, the company recently introduced a more affordable electric truck called the King Kong, starting at 99,800 yuan (approximately $13,700). It comes in both RWD and AWD versions, with a maximum CLTC range of 605 kilometers (375 miles).

Geely’s export efforts include recent deals such as a partnership with Pakistan’s Capital Smart Motors to sell the R6, as it continues to push the Riddara brand in developing markets like Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil.
The company’s overseas push marks a significant step in the growing global competition for electric trucks, as Chinese automakers accelerate their expansion in the NEV segment amid increasing demand for versatile and sustainable transport options.
