BYD is set to introduce the all-electric Qin L EV, following the launch of its hybrid counterpart, the Qin L DM-i, in May last year.
The Chinese automaker signaled the upcoming release by posting three seals on its Weibo account on Feb 24. “The new mid-size pure electric sedan Qin L EV is coming soon,” the company stated.

Lu Tian, general manager of sales for BYD’s Dynasty series, described the model as a mid-size electric sedan targeting younger consumers.
The Qin L EV was included in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s (MIIT) list of models approved for sale in China on Jan 10, clearing a regulatory hurdle ahead of its market entry.

The sedan measures 4,720 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It is powered by a 110 kW electric motor and has a top speed of 160 km/h, according to official filings.
BYD has not disclosed pricing details for the model. The Qin L DM-i, available in five variants, is currently priced between RMB 99,800 ($13,790) and RMB 139,800 in China.
