DKV Mobility has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) charging network in Switzerland through a roaming agreement with local provider MOVE Mobility, adding 2,200 charging points—most of them high-speed stations—to its European network. The move is part of the company’s ongoing effort to improve access to fast-charging infrastructure along key transport corridors. According to DKV Mobility, around 2,000 of the 2,200 newly added charging points from MOVE Mobility are fast or ultra-fast chargers with outputs of up to 150 kW. These additions bring the company’s total number of charge points in Switzerland to around 14,000, contributing to its European network, which…

Lucid Group said on Tuesday that owners of its Lucid Air sedan will be able to access Tesla’s Supercharger network in North America starting July 31, following an agreement reached nearly two years ago. However, the vehicles will only be able to charge at a peak rate of 50 kilowatts — far below the 250kW capacity of Tesla’s V3 and newer Superchargers. All Lucid Air sedans, regardless of model year, will be compatible with the network using a $220 adapter provided by the company. The reduced charging speed is due to a mismatch between Lucid’s 924-volt architecture and the 400-volt…

Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sold in Europe produce 73% fewer life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions compared to gasoline-powered cars, according to new findings from the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT). The study underscores BEVs as the most effective technology for reducing emissions in Europe’s most polluting transport segment. The ICCT report, released Thursday, found that while hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles offer some emissions savings, their reductions remain marginal — 20% and 30% respectively — when measured across the entire vehicle lifecycle. The limited impact of plug-in hybrids was attributed to lower-than-expected usage of electric driving. “Battery electric cars in…
