Deepal, the new energy vehicle unit of Changan Automobile, has launched the L06 electric sedan in China with a limited-time starting price of RMB 132,900 ($18,700), lowering the cost from its earlier pre-sales level as the company seeks to strengthen its position in the country’s competitive mass-market EV segment.
Unveiled at an event on Monday night, the L06 is currently offered only as a battery electric vehicle despite the earlier debut of an extended-range version in September. The model comes in four variants priced between RMB 134,900 and RMB 156,900 before temporary discounts.

A key feature of the L06 is its fourth-generation MagneRide magnetorheological active suspension system, a configuration typically associated with higher-end vehicles and designed to adjust suspension firmness across a wide range of driving scenarios.
The five-seat sedan enters a segment that includes rivals such as the Xpeng Mona M03, BYD Seal 06, and BYD Qin L. It measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. The rear-mounted motor delivers peak power of 200 kW and torque of 290 Nm, giving the vehicle a 0–100 km/h acceleration capability of between 5.9 and 6.2 seconds depending on configuration.

The L06 is equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries from CATL, available in 56.12-kWh and 68.82-kWh capacities that offer CLTC ranges of 560 km and 670 km respectively.
Fast charging allows the battery to replenish from 30 percent to 80 percent in 15 minutes. The sedan also includes LiDAR for urban Navigation on Autopilot features and is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity S1 Ultra chip for in-cabin digital functions.

Deepal, launched by Changan in 2022, introduced its first model, the SL03 sedan, as a competitor to Tesla’s Model 3. Its current lineup also includes the L07 sedan and several SUVs such as the S05, G318, S07, and S09.
