According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), sales of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China reached 6.887 million units in 2022, a 93.4% increase from 2021. The breakdown of sales by drive type includes 5.365 million battery electric vehicles (+81.6%), 1.518 million plug-in hybrids (+151.6%), and 3,000 fuel cell vehicles (+112.8%). These sales accounted for 25.6% of all vehicle sales in China, and the overall Chinese vehicle market grew by 2.1%. Honda recall over 200,000 hybrid vehicles in China due to issues with brake pedal sensors in some models, according to the country’s State Administration for Market Regulation.
