Arkema will present its latest battery materials portfolio at Battery Show Europe 2026 in Stuttgart, Germany, highlighting technologies designed to improve the performance, safety and sustainability of electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage system (ESS) batteries.
The French specialty materials company said it will showcase developments across battery cell, separator and battery pack applications, with a particular focus on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technologies. Arkema plans to feature its Kynar PVDF binder portfolio, including the newly developed Kynar HSV 1200 and HSV 1400 grades, which are designed to improve adhesion, reduce binder loading and increase active material content to support higher energy density. The company will also present products from its Incellion range for primer coatings and silicon-based anodes.
Arkema said its Kynar HSV 900 binder has become a widely used material in the LFP battery sector since its introduction in 2007, supporting batteries used in more than 10 million electric vehicles worldwide as well as numerous energy storage systems.
The company will additionally highlight separator technologies, including its Kynar Flex PVDF portfolio and newly launched Incellion separator coating products. According to Arkema, these materials are intended to improve thermal stability, electrolyte wettability, mechanical strength and manufacturing efficiency while supporting safer battery designs.
Looking ahead to future battery architectures, Arkema said it is developing materials for semi-solid and all-solid-state batteries, as well as dry-electrode manufacturing processes aimed at reducing energy consumption and production costs. The company recently opened a dry-coating laboratory in France to support the development of advanced battery manufacturing technologies.
Beyond battery cells, Arkema plans to showcase electrical insulation, thermal management and assembly solutions for battery packs. The portfolio includes Zenimid polyimides, Rilsan Polyamide 11, Rilsamid Polyamide 12 and Sartomer UV-curable materials, alongside Bostik thermal interface materials and structural adhesives designed to improve battery safety, heat management and serviceability.
Arkema reported sales of approximately €9.1 billion in 2025 and operates in around 55 countries with 20,700 employees. The company said its battery materials portfolio reflects its broader strategy of supporting electrification and next-generation energy storage technologies.
