Polestar has expanded the Polestar 3 lineup with the introduction of a new entry-level Long Range Single Motor variant, which is now being produced at the company’s Charleston, South Carolina facility. Starting at $67,500 before the $1,400 destination fee, this new version offers a more affordable option compared to the dual-motor all-wheel drive model, which is priced $5,900 higher.
The Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor offers an impressive EPA-estimated range of up to 350 miles (563 km), surpassing the dual-motor variant by 35 miles (56 km). However, the tradeoff comes with a rear-mounted motor delivering 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS) and 361 lb-ft (489 Nm) of torque. The crossover accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 7.5 seconds. Charging is efficient, with a 250 kW DC fast charger providing 10-80% charge in just 30 minutes.
In terms of features, the entry-level variant comes well-equipped with LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and acoustic windows, along with a panoramic glass roof and 20-inch wheels. Inside, the vehicle boasts a 9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment system, and premium features such as eight-way power heated front seats and tri-zone climate control.
Safety features are comprehensive, with standard offerings including Pilot Assist, Lane Change Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Information with Steer Assist, and more. A range of optional upgrades, such as the $5,500 Plus Pack, adds a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system and heated steering wheel, among other premium touches.
The Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor will also be available in Europe, where the WLTP range reaches up to 438 miles (706 km). In Germany, pricing starts at €79,890, and in the UK, it begins at £69,900.
