Valeo Unveils Innovative Wireless Charging Solution, Ineez Air Charging, with V2G Features at CES 2024

French automotive supplier Valeo is set to showcase its latest innovation, the Ineez Air Charging, at CES 2024 in Las Vegas next week. The wireless charging solution, equipped with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities, is designed for use across both public and private charging locations.

Valeo claims that Ineez Air Charging is compatible with any wallbox globally, accommodating all power grids (1-phase or 3-phase) and electric vehicles equipped with 400- and 800-volt batteries. Distinguishing itself, the technology utilizes an ultra-low operating frequency of around 3kHz, resulting in a lighter design (50% of other systems’ weight) and a simplified charging experience.

The hardware’s streamlined approach aims to ensure affordability for a wide user base while maintaining high efficiency, surpassing 90% from grid to battery.

The wireless charging solution offers V2G functionality, supporting power solutions ranging from 7 to 22 kW. Additionally, it can be seamlessly integrated into existing wallboxes and connected directly to the power grid, making it suitable for public locations such as shopping centers or street parking, as well as private home charging.

Valeo emphasizes that Ineez Air Charging is forward-looking, anticipating a future where autonomous vehicles autonomously recharge on inductive charging areas. The technology is safeguarded by over 25 design patents covering hardware, software, and mechatronics.

CES 2024 is scheduled to commence on January 9 and will run until January 12, 2024, in Las Vegas.
