Honda’s SC e: concept electric motorcycle is currently on display at the Milan Motorcycle Shows (EICMA) following its official world premiere at the Japan Mobility 2023 show in October. The production version of this electric vehicle (EV) is now confirmed to be introduced in the next year or so.
The nomenclature “SC” denotes its classification as a scooter, with the “e:” signifying its electric propulsion. While Honda has not disclosed extensive details about the SC e:’s motor, it has specified that the EV falls within the equivalent of a 125cc or Class 2 moped category, requiring riders to hold an A1 license.
The model is equipped with two MPP batteries positioned beneath the seat, delivering a range of approximately 100 km (62 miles). These swappable power packs, weighing 10 kg (22 lbs) each, are compatible with Honda’s existing mobile battery network operational in Japan and India. The company emphasizes a focus on rider comfort, highlighting efforts to minimize noise and vibration associated with the electric motor.
Notable features of the SC e: include full LED lighting with distinctive blue accents on the front panel, handlebars, floorboard, and rear, along with an expanded central display.
While the Honda SC e: electric motorcycle is anticipated to reach Europe by 2025, key details such as pricing for the EV remain undisclosed. As the electric mobility landscape continues to evolve, Honda’s latest offering contributes to the expanding market of electric two-wheelers.
