Alfa Romeo has unveiled the reimagined 33 Stradale, a flagship sports car paying homage to its revered predecessor from the late 1960s. The revival of this iconic model showcases the brand’s dedication to artisanal craftsmanship and bespoke automotive excellence.
Taking design cues from the breathtaking 33 Stradale of the past, the modern iteration boasts a mid-engined layout and a strikingly retro-infused body. This exquisite bodywork is set to be meticulously handcrafted by the skilled artisans at Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, reaffirming Alfa Romeo’s commitment to the art of coachbuilding. Notably, this marks the second instance of Alfa Romeo collaborating with bespoke coachbuilders for a distinctive body, the first being the Giulia SWB Zagato introduced last year.

The new 33 Stradale will be a departure from its exclusive predecessor, as Alfa Romeo plans to produce 33 units of this reimagined marvel. Each of these vehicles has already found eager owners, with all units being sold shortly after an exclusive preview event held behind closed doors following the 2022 Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza. Notably, Alfa Romeo has underscored its dedication to individuality, with each car being a bespoke creation meticulously crafted by a dedicated team.
Owners of the revived 33 Stradale are offered an array of personalization options that transcend conventional boundaries. A distinctive feature includes a customized eight-digit VIN number, personally selected by the owner and prominently displayed on the center tunnel. The vehicle’s allure is further heightened by butterfly doors, a carbon fiber monocoque combined with an aluminum H-frame, and a hybrid roof construction. The inclusion of carbon fiber extends even to the window frames, with polycarbonate replacing the rear glass.
Inside, the 33 Stradale offers two distinct interior themes: Tributo and Alfa Corse. While the Tributo theme pays homage to the classic model, the Alfa Corse theme is tailored for a sportier experience. The driver-centric cockpit embraces minimalism, featuring aluminum shift paddles and a steering wheel devoid of extraneous controls. Alfa Romeo emphasizes an immersive driving experience with a mix of luxurious materials, including leather, carbon fiber, aluminum, and Alcantara, while staying true to the design essence of the original 1960s model.

Under the hood, the new 33 Stradale houses a potent twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine generating more than 620 horsepower, channeled to the rear wheels. Although the power output might bear a resemblance to Maserati’s Nettuno engine, Alfa Romeo clarifies that it’s an evolution of the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 found in models like the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
Interestingly, Alfa Romeo offers an electrified variant of the 33 Stradale, wielding over 750 horsepower. This electric supercar option aligns with the power output of the GranTurismo Folgore, featuring a tri-motor setup. The electric variant boasts a commendable WLTP cycle range of 280 miles (450 kilometers), reflecting Alfa Romeo’s strides in embracing sustainable performance.
Whether powered by internal combustion or electricity, the 33 Stradale guarantees exhilarating performance. Accelerating from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under three seconds and reaching a top speed of 207 mph (333 km/h), this marvel showcases its impressive capabilities.
