Polestar reported estimated retail sales of 14,371 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, an increase of approximately 1% from 14,222 vehicles in the same period last year.
For the first nine months of 2026, estimated retail sales reached 44,790 vehicles, up 0.6% from 44,511 vehicles in the corresponding period of 2025. The company said the figures for 2026 are estimates and remain subject to revision.
Third-Quarter Sales Increase Slightly
Polestar’s estimated third-quarter sales increased by 149 vehicles year-on-year. The growth followed a challenging market environment, according to CEO Michael Lohscheller.
“We delivered our best third quarter despite increasingly challenging market conditions. The start of Polestar 5 customer deliveries marks an important milestone for the company, while the new Polestar 4 SUV broadens our product portfolio and extends our reach to new customer groups entering the D-SUV segment, the largest and most dynamic segment in the European premium EV market,” said Lohscheller.
Sales Excluding US Business Decline
Polestar also reported retail sales excluding its US business, following a decision by US authorities concerning the Connected Vehicle Rule.
On this basis, estimated sales reached 12,211 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, down 8% from 13,256 vehicles a year earlier.
For the first nine months, sales excluding the US business totalled 40,773 vehicles, a decrease of 0.5% from 40,968 vehicles in the same period of 2025.
Polestar Expands Its Model Portfolio
Lohscheller highlighted the start of customer deliveries of the Polestar 5 and the introduction of the Polestar 4 SUV as developments during the quarter.
The company expects the expanded model portfolio to help it reach additional customer groups, including buyers in the premium D-SUV segment.
