GWM’s electric vehicle brand Ora has launched the Ora 5 Sport and Ora 5 GT in China, expanding its compact model range with battery-electric, hybrid and gasoline powertrain options. The electric versions offer up to 580 km of CLTC range, while prices for the new models start at 81,800 yuan and 99,800 yuan, respectively.
Ora 5 Sport and GT Expand Lineup
The Ora 5 Sport is available in seven variants, with official prices ranging from 81,800 yuan to 135,800 yuan. Limited-time prices reduce the range to between 71,800 yuan and 125,800 yuan.
The Ora 5 GT comes in six variants, with official prices from 99,800 yuan to 143,800 yuan. Its limited-time prices range from 89,800 yuan to 133,800 yuan.
Both models are available with battery-electric, hybrid and gasoline powertrains, reflecting GWM’s use of the Global One platform to accommodate different propulsion systems within the same model family.
Electric Versions Offer Up to 580 km Range
The electric Ora 5 Sport uses a 150 kW motor producing 260 Nm of peak torque and a 58.3 kWh battery supplied by Svolt Energy.
The battery-electric model has a CLTC range of 580 km and energy consumption of 11.6 kWh per 100 km.
The electric Ora 5 GT uses the same motor and battery capacity but has a CLTC range of 550 km. Both electric models can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds.
The battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes.
The electric versions also use Svolt Energy’s 14-in-1 electric drive system and second-generation short-blade batteries.
Hybrid and Gasoline Options
The hybrid versions use GWM’s fifth-generation Hi2 intelligent hybrid system.
The system produces combined output of 166 kW and 476 Nm of torque, with WLTC fuel consumption rated at 4.5 litres per 100 km.
GWM Launches New-Generation Tank 300 with Gasoline, Diesel and Plug-In Hybrid Options
Gasoline versions use a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with a third-generation wet seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The powertrain produces up to 135 kW and has WLTC fuel consumption of 6.4 litres per 100 km.
Driver Assistance and Connected Technology
Higher-specification versions of the Ora 5 Sport and Ora 5 GT are equipped with LiDAR and GWM’s Coffee Pilot 3 driver-assistance platform.
The system supports highway and urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) without relying on high-definition maps. It also supports cross-floor memory parking along routes of up to 3 kilometres.
Inside, both models feature a 15.6-inch 2.5K floating central touchscreen, an automotive-grade 4-nanometre chip and 20 TOPS of computing power.
The vehicles also use GWM’s Coffee GPT large language model for voice interaction.
GT Adds Performance-Focused Features
The Ora 5 Sport is positioned as an urban-oriented model, while the Ora 5 GT focuses more heavily on driving dynamics.
The GT features a lower stance, aerodynamic bodywork, 19-inch wheels and a large rear wing. GWM says the electric version can generate 37 kg of downforce at 180 km/h.

The electric GT also includes a red trigger button for activating Super Sport mode and a system designed to simulate the sound of a V8 engine.
Ora Expands Beyond Its Original EV Focus
Ora was established by GWM in 2018 as an all-electric brand, initially targeting smaller EVs priced below 100,000 yuan.
The introduction of hybrid and gasoline versions marks a broader approach as Chinese automakers respond to intense competition and pricing pressure in the domestic market.
The Ora 5 Sport and Ora 5 GT are based on the Ora 5, which launched in December 2025 as the brand’s first all-new model in more than two years.
The Ora 5 competes in China with models including BYD’s Yuan Plus and Leapmotor’s B10.
