Zeekr, the electric vehicle manufacturer, achieved a significant milestone as the first consignment of Zeekr 001 shooting brake models embarked on its journey to the Netherlands. This marked the company’s inaugural step into international markets, signifying Zeekr’s strategic expansion into the European automotive sector.
In a collaborative effort with Zeekr’s China Europe Vehicle Technology Centre (CEVT) design team, the European version of the Zeekr 001 has been meticulously tailored to meet the stringent five-star crash requirements mandated in Europe. This underscores Zeekr’s commitment to prioritizing safety and adhering to local regulations, while also adapting design elements and features to cater to the unique demands of the European market.

The European endeavor was formally announced during the Shanghai auto show on April 18, where Zeekr revealed its intention to provide European customers with a range of electric vehicle offerings through a direct-to-customer business model. This approach aligns with the evolving trends in the automotive industry, which emphasize customer engagement and satisfaction.
Looking toward Europe, Zeekr commenced pre-sales of its Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X models on June 27, priced at âŹ59,490 ($64,170) and âŹ44,990 respectively. Customers across Europe are eagerly anticipating the commencement of deliveries within the stipulated timeframe.
Initial deliveries of the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X models are earmarked for Sweden and the Netherlands, with distribution set to begin in the fourth quarter, as reiterated by Zeekr. The manufacturing of the first Zeekr 001 units designed for European consumers was completed on August 2, with the vehicles anticipated to arrive in Europe via the port of Taicang, Jiangsu province, in mid-August.
In line with its strategic expansion plans, Zeekr has established a dedicated European sales company, underscoring the brand’s commitment to fostering long-term growth and engagement in the region.

As Zeekr embarks on this new chapter, the company envisions gradual growth in its global presence. By 2024, the brand aims to extend its reach to encompass six countries, with a subsequent increase to eight countries by 2025.
