After much anticipation, Fisker has finally commenced the delivery of its highly awaited Fisker Ocean electric SUV to customers in the United States. The initial shipment of 22 units, known as the Ocean One, was recently delivered at Fisker’s facility in Los Angeles. These vehicles made their way to the US from Fisker’s manufacturing plant in Austria, operated by Magna Steyr.
In an official statement celebrating the milestone, Fisker expressed gratitude to its customers for their patience during an extended certification period earlier this year. The company is delighted to begin rewarding their patience by initiating the deliveries.
We’re grateful our customers have been patient with us as we dealt with a longer-than-expected certification period earlier this year, and we’re happy their patience is now starting to be rewarded.
Fisker has confirmed that the delivery process will continue throughout the summer to address the current backlog of 65,000 units in the United States. Meanwhile, deliveries have already commenced in Europe, with the first shipments taking place last month.
Despite the substantial number of customers still awaiting their vehicles, Fisker aims to manufacture between 32,000 and 36,000 units in 2023 in an effort to reduce the waiting list. The company plans to ramp up production during the second quarter, targeting a production rate of 6,000 units per month by autumn.
While the Fisker Ocean is regarded as a reliable electric vehicle, its performance and user experiences will be closely observed over the upcoming months, especially by those who are eagerly awaiting their own vehicles. If you are among the waiting customers or have already received your Fisker Ocean, feel free to share your thoughts and experiences with us in the comments section below.
