NIO has reached a new milestone, with its cumulative battery swap service providing 20 million swaps. This achievement was announced on the company’s mobile app, and it took only nine months to double the number of swaps from 10 million to 20 million, with an average of 45,000 services provided daily. This increase demonstrates the popularity of NIO’s battery swap stations as a way for its customers to quickly recharge their EVs.

NIO’s battery swap stations are becoming increasingly popular among its customers, and they now provide over 60% of the power the company delivers to its owners. The swap stations have also become a popular method for EV owners to replenish their vehicles. The 20 million battery swap services provided by NIO can support more than 5,106 million kilometers of driving and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 550,286 tons. The company’s battery swap stations not only offer fully charged batteries, but they also enable owners to upgrade their battery packs.

The company currently has 1,327 battery swap stations and 2,442 charging stations in China, and it plans to add 1,000 battery swap stations this year. By the end of 2023, NIO aims to have 2,300 battery swap stations in China.

NIO’s infrastructure goal is one of the ways it hopes to boost sales, and it plans to use swap stations as showrooms in less developed cities. The company’s CEO, William Li, recently stated that NIO’s battery swap station network is open to other EV brands and compared the service to cloud services. Li believes that the time has come to offer the output of the swap stations to the outside world.

NIO’s battery swap service is unique in the EV industry, and its success demonstrates that it has become a significant selling point for the company. With its aggressive infrastructure plans and openness to other brands, NIO’s battery swap stations are set to play a key role in the future of EV transportation.
