The Geely brand has recently launched its latest electric car, the Panda mini. This adorable two-door, four-seater mini electric vehicle was officially unveiled on February 6 and has been warmly received by consumers. The Panda mini comes in four different models, with prices ranging from 39,900 to 53,900 yuan in the Chinese market.
The design of the Panda mini is inspired by the classic small box shape of mini cars, with a narrow-strip closed front grille, and decorative trim around the edge. The round headlight group gives the car an unmistakable cute and charming look. Like other miniature EVs such as the Wuling Hongguang MiniEV and the Chery Small Ant, the Panda mini boasts a two-door, four-seater layout, complete with low-drag wheels.

The rear of the car has a clean and simple design, featuring polygonal taillights and a built-in inverted trapezoidal license plate area. The Panda mini measures 3065/1522/1600 (1610) mm in length, width, and height, respectively, and has a wheelbase of 2015 mm.
The interior of the Panda mini is functional, yet playful, with a 9.2-inch narrow-strip LCD instrument and an 8-inch floating central control screen. The car is also equipped with convenient features like electronic central locking, height-adjustable headlights, and electric doors and windows.
The Panda mini also has a mobile app remote control function, allowing for remote car finding, car condition query, remote unlocking, and even remote control of the air conditioner and trunk. The car is also equipped with a mobile phone Bluetooth key, so you can unlock the car using the Geely Car Owner App without needing a physical key.
In terms of power, the Geely Panda mini uses Geely’s own EIC system, which provides lithium iron phosphate batteries with 9.61kWh and 17.03kWh capacity options. It is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum efficiency of 96.5% and can handle up to a 20% climbing angle. The Panda mini has a cruising range of 120km and 200km and offers two driving modes: Sport and Normal, with 3-level kinetic energy recovery.

The name “Panda” is not new to the Geely brand. The company had previously used this name for a small fuel vehicle that resembled a panda. This previous iteration of the Geely Panda has since been discontinued. With the growing popularity of electrification in China, mini EVs are becoming increasingly appealing to consumers. The Geely Panda mini is just the beginning of Geely’s foray into the electric vehicle market, and the brand is expected to announce new strategies and products in 2023.
