Zest has opened 12 ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging spaces across Winsford, Nottingham and Banbury, expanding its UK public charging network at food and drink destinations. The installations are located at KFC restaurants in Winsford and Nottingham and a combined Costa Coffee and Burger King drive-thru development in Banbury.
Winsford and Nottingham Add KFC Charging
Both KFC locations were developed through Zest’s partnership with franchise operator Gastronomy Foods. Each site features four 150 kW charging spaces.
In Winsford, the chargers are located at the new KFC restaurant on Road One at Winsford Industrial Estate. Nottingham’s installation is at the restaurant on Nuthall Road, providing charging access for local drivers and people travelling through the area.
Banbury Site Features 160 kW Charging
In Banbury, Zest has installed four 160 kW charging spaces at a new Costa Coffee and Burger King drive-thru development on Southam Road. The project was delivered in partnership with property developer Stephen James Property.
Robin Heap, CEO of Zest, said food and drink destinations provide convenient locations for EV charging because customers already spend time at restaurants, coffee shops and drive-thrus.
The new installations add to Zest’s wider network across food, drink and retail destinations, including locations associated with Starbucks, Five Guys, Tesco, Aldi, Home Bargains and Co-op. The company is expanding its infrastructure at places drivers already visit during everyday journeys.
