Xpeng has delivered its first Mona L03 in France, marking the start of European customer deliveries for the Chinese automaker’s electric SUV. Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng personally handed over the vehicle in Paris on October 13, according to a company announcement published on Weibo on Tuesday.
The handover represents a key milestone following the model’s European debut earlier this year. Xpeng said the first French customer chose the vehicle because of its advanced driver assistance capabilities, although the company did not disclose the specific variant or which features are available in the French market.
Following the delivery, He met with local dealer partners. Xpeng said a dealership group’s CEO expressed confidence in the brand and the Mona L03’s prospects, but did not provide local order figures.
European Launch Follows Munich Debut
The Mona L03 made its global debut in Munich, Germany, on July 16. Xpeng presented it as its first model to launch simultaneously in China and Europe, with plans to introduce the vehicle in 64 overseas markets.
The European version is offered as a battery electric vehicle (BEV), with a previously announced starting price of €35,600, equivalent to approximately $40,030.
In China, the model is available in both fully electric and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configurations, with prices starting at 123,800 yuan, or around $18,420.
The specifications, pricing and available equipment differ by market, and Xpeng has not disclosed further details about the configuration delivered to its first French customer.
Xpeng Expands Into Australia and New Zealand
The French delivery follows the Mona L03’s launch in Australia and New Zealand, announced by Xpeng on October 11. The model became the company’s third offering in those markets, joining the G6 and X9.
The expansion is part of Xpeng’s broader effort to bring its vehicles and driver assistance technology to international customers. Its plan to introduce the Mona L03 across 64 overseas markets signals ambitions to broaden the model’s reach beyond China and Europe.
Driver Assistance and Connected Navigation
Driver assistance technology is a central part of the Mona L03’s positioning. At the model’s July launch, Xpeng said it would be the company’s first overseas model to integrate Google Maps Auto SDK.
The integration is intended to support mapping, real-time traffic information and route planning. However, the company has not disclosed which driver assistance functions or connected services are included in the French-delivered vehicle.
The first delivery provides an initial step in the model’s European commercial rollout. Its progress in France and other overseas markets will help show how Xpeng’s mass-market vehicle strategy performs as the company expands its international dealer network.
