Q-Park is expanding its partnership with Dutch software provider GreenFlux to manage electric vehicle charging infrastructure at its parking locations in Germany and Ireland. The transition will cover more than 700 charging stations in Germany and approximately 120 in Ireland.
The move follows the migration of around 1,700 charging stations at Q-Park locations in the Netherlands to GreenFlux’s Charge Point Management System (CPMS). The software manages charging operations and billing, while Q-Park takes greater direct control of its charging business.
Q-Park Takes Direct Control of Charging Operations
Under the expanded arrangement, Q-Park is moving away from its previous “CPO-as-a-Service” model, in which external providers handled charging operations and related commercial processes.
With GreenFlux’s software operating in the background, Q-Park will manage pricing, billing and energy management itself. The system also supports open interfaces for external payment providers, smart charging through dynamic power distribution and automated refunds.
GreenFlux said previous migrations involving more than 35,000 charging points achieved system availability of 99.8%.
For drivers, managed roaming is intended to preserve access through familiar charging cards and apps linked to their existing mobility service providers.
Expanding Across European Markets
Peter Mertens, head of real estate and energy services at Q-Park, said the company was extending the partnership following its experience in the Netherlands.
“We are committed to offer seamless charging services to our customers and are delighted to expand our partnership with GreenFlux to enable this.”
Mertens said the expanded collaboration would support charging customers in Germany and Ireland while connecting e-mobility service providers through GreenFlux’s network and partnerships.
Freerik Meeuwes, director of sales and operations at GreenFlux, said the Netherlands migration had provided the basis for the expansion.
“The successful migration of Q-Park Netherlands laid the foundation for extending our partnership into Germany and Ireland.”
The transition will give Q-Park a more direct role in operating its charging infrastructure across the three markets, while GreenFlux provides the software needed to manage charging services and transactions.
