Allego has launched an updated version of its mobile application, enabling electric vehicle (EV) drivers to access not only its own charging stations but also those operated by third-party providers across Europe.
The move addresses a long-standing challenge in the EV sector, where users often rely on multiple apps, subscriptions, and charging cards to access different networks—frequently encountering inconsistent pricing and limited interoperability. With the upgrade, Allego users can now initiate charging sessions at partner networks directly through a single account, covering around one million charging points across Europe.

“With the Allego app, EV owners no longer have to use different charging apps depending on the operator and can efficiently plan their charging stops—even on long-distance trips—using the app’s Smart Route Planner. Another advantage: Allego does not charge any additional fees for using third-party providers. This means the Allego app offers complete price transparency,” the company said in a statement.
While Allego said it does not apply additional markups, pricing remains dependent on partner networks. A sample check indicated charging rates of €0.79/kWh at EnBW stations and €0.96/kWh at Aral Pulse locations, suggesting that underlying business-to-business pricing is passed directly to customers.

At Allego’s own charging infrastructure, tariffs vary by power level. Ultra-fast charging in Germany is currently priced at €0.76/kWh, with lower-powered fast chargers at €0.655/kWh and AC charging at €0.60/kWh. The company said these rates may differ across countries and could also apply to third-party stations. As part of a promotional measure, Allego is offering a 9% discount at its fast-charging stations in Germany, reducing the ultra-fast rate to €0.69/kWh.
The company also offers a subscription service, Allego Plus, priced at €9.99 per month. Subscribers receive a 36% discount, lowering the charging cost to €0.49/kWh. According to Allego, the subscription becomes cost-effective after approximately 370 kilometres of monthly driving, based on average energy consumption.

In an illustrative example, Allego said a journey between Hamburg and Munich would cost €102.60 at the standard €0.76/kWh rate. With the discounted app rate, costs would fall to €93.15, while the subscription rate would reduce the total to €66.15.
Allego currently operates 525 ultra-fast charging locations in Germany, representing 2,355 charging points, and plans to expand its network by an additional 100 sites by 2026.

“Until now, drivers have had to use multiple charging apps to charge flexibly anywhere. By consolidating all networks into a single interface within the Allego App, we simplify the charging process, making it as easy as refuelling a conventional vehicle—with transparent pricing and instant savings,” said Christian Zeh, Chief Operating Officer at Allego.
