Tesla has produced its six-millionth electric drive unit at its Nevada manufacturing complex, marking another major production milestone for the U.S. automaker as it continues to scale operations across its global footprint.
The company said on Wednesday that the milestone was reached at its Gigafactory Nevada site, where drive units — integrating the motor, gearbox and power electronics into a single system — are manufactured for use in Tesla vehicles assembled in North America. The announcement was shared by Tesla’s manufacturing team on social media, accompanied by images of the milestone unit.

The Nevada facility plays a central role in Tesla’s supply chain, producing drivetrains that are shipped to vehicle assembly plants across the United States. The factory previously marked the production of its five-millionth drive unit in June 2024, highlighting the pace at which output has expanded.
The latest update follows another milestone announced earlier this week, when Tesla said it had produced its nine-millionth vehicle globally. Together, the milestones underscore the scale of the company’s manufacturing operations as it continues to expand capacity across multiple regions.

Tesla has not disclosed production targets for its drive unit operations, but the Nevada facility remains a core pillar of its North American manufacturing strategy, supporting both current vehicle lines and future model programs.
