LG Energy Solution (LGES) has unveiled B.once, a new battery diagnostic service aimed at the used electric vehicle (EV) market, as part of its broader push to expand into battery lifecycle management and value-added services beyond cell production.
The company said B.once is designed to determine an EV battery’s health and performance status within minutes, offering two service tiers — Quick Scan and Power Scan. Quick Scan provides an assessment in about five minutes by connecting an onboard diagnostic device while the vehicle is switched on, delivering data on remaining capacity, voltage, and temperature.

Power Scan, on the other hand, offers a more comprehensive analysis during the charging process, evaluating the battery between 50% and 80% state of charge and producing results roughly 30 minutes after charging is complete.

Developed based on more than 10,000 of LGES’s patents in battery management and testing, B.once draws from a big-data pool of over 30,000 EVs to enhance diagnostic precision.
The system is available through a dedicated mobile app that allows real-time monitoring of diagnostic results. South Korean used-EV platform Revolt has been confirmed as the first customer to adopt the service.

LGES said B.once is intended to strengthen transparency in used EV transactions and support related sectors such as insurance and financing. The new service complements the company’s B.Lifecare diagnostic program for EV owners and follows the 2023 launch of B.around, a brand offering solutions for battery management systems (BMS) and software-defined vehicles.
The company said the expansion into battery-as-a-service (BaaS) marks an important step in reinforcing its competitiveness in the global EV value chain.
