General Motors’ Chevrolet brand has earned recognition for its electric vehicles, with the 2025 Equinox EV named Cars.com’s Top Pick: Value EV and the 2026 Silverado EV awarded Top Pick: EV Pickup Truck. The accolades underscore Chevrolet’s emphasis on delivering capable, affordable, and innovative EVs in a competitive market.
The Equinox EV was praised for its starting price under $35,000, combining affordability with a long driving range and modern styling. Cars.com highlighted the compact SUV as particularly appealing to budget-conscious buyers seeking practical and stylish electric transportation, even as federal EV tax credits are set to expire later this year.

The Silverado EV stood out for its 493-mile range on the Max Range battery pack, 350-kW DC fast-charging capability, 12,500-pound towing capacity, and 2,350-pound payload. Cars.com noted the electric pickup’s maneuverability and performance, positioning it as a strong contender in the growing EV truck segment.
General Motors reported a record 21,000 EV sales in August, driven largely by demand for the Equinox EV, Silverado EV, Cadillac LYRIQ, and GMC Sierra EV. The company, the second-largest EV seller in the United States, expects continued market share growth despite potential slowing demand following the expiration of federal incentives.
Cars.com also highlighted shifts in the EV market, including a 1.4% increase in new EV inventory and a 38% jump in used EV stock year-over-year, with used vehicles spending an average of just 46 days on the lot. New EV prices rose by 4.1%, while used EV prices fell by 3.8%, reflecting changing incentives and consumer purchasing behavior.
Scott Bell, Chevrolet’s vice president, emphasized the significance of the awards: “These awards validate our mission to build EVs that customers can rely on.” He noted that the Equinox and Silverado EVs reflect Chevrolet’s commitment to combining range, capability, and value to meet diverse consumer needs in an evolving market.
