U.S.-based electric boat startup Arc has unveiled its most accessible model yet, the Arc Coast, priced at $168,000 and slated to ship in 2026. The company has begun accepting preorders for the new model, which marks a strategic shift toward a broader consumer base.
The Coast is Arc’s third electric boat, following the $300,000 Arc One and the $268,000 Arc Sport, and is designed in a center console layout commonly used for recreational and fishing purposes. Despite being founded just four years ago, Arc has quickly expanded its product lineup and development efforts.
Like the Sport, the Coast is powered by a 226kWh battery pack developed in-house. Arc says the battery enables a runtime of four to five hours — or longer, depending on how the 400 horsepower is deployed — with a top speed around 50 miles per hour. The boat can carry up to 10 passengers.
“The Coast is a result of everything we’ve learned so far — high performance, approachable design, and ready for real-world use,” said Arc founder and CEO Mitch Lee.
A key difference from the Sport is the Coast’s center console design, which allows for easier movement around the perimeter of the vessel. The model features a minimalist control interface and software-rich console screens, maintaining the premium design seen in earlier models.
Arc is also developing an electric tugboat in partnership with the Port of Los Angeles, part of its broader goal to electrify a range of watercraft segments. The company highlights several advantages of its electric boats over gas-powered alternatives, including reduced noise, no exhaust fumes, and minimal seasonal maintenance.
