Australian truck electrification company Janus Electric has secured new orders from four California-based trucking fleets for 67 diesel-to-electric truck conversions, strengthening its presence in the North American market.
The latest agreements increase the company’s total North American order book to 112 truck conversions, representing contracts valued at approximately AUD45 million (US$31.5 million).
The new customers are Golden State Express, WEHACO, Tradelinke Transport, and King Fio Trucking.
Orders Expand U.S. Customer Base
The California contracts include 67 truck conversions, 77 swappable battery packs, and four Janus Charge & Change Stations.
Janus Electric said the orders significantly expand its customer base in the United States and reflect growing interest in its battery-swapping platform for heavy-duty trucks.
“These orders significantly broaden our US customer base, and the decision of these operators to adopt the Janus conversion and battery-swap platform provides important customer validation,” said Ben Hutt, chief executive officer and managing director of Janus Electric.
“Our focus is now on scaling production and converting our order book into delivered vehicles and long-term recurring revenue,” he added.
California Incentives Key to Project Execution
The four fleet operators primarily serve freight and port drayage operations at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Janus Electric said the contracts remain conditional on the successful award of California incentive funding covering trucks, battery systems and charging infrastructure.
The company said financial support is expected to come from a combination of Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) vouchers and Port of Los Angeles Plus grants, which can significantly reduce conversion costs for eligible fleet operators.
Golden State Express and WEHACO are currently working with Janus Electric to submit grant applications ahead of the December 2026 deadline.
Deliveries Expected to Begin in Late 2026
Janus Electric said production scheduling will be finalized after incentive approvals are received.
The company expects the first converted trucks to be delivered during the fourth quarter of 2026, with deliveries continuing throughout 2027.

Earlier this month, Janus Electric also expanded an order from Ability Tri-Modal, bringing its U.S. order book to 87 truck conversions. Combined with an order for 25 conversions in Canada, the company’s total North American pipeline now stands at 112 vehicles.
