Charging infrastructure firm Milence has inaugurated its second public truck charging hub in the Netherlands, marking the country’s debut of a Megawatt Charging System (MCS) capable of delivering ultra-fast charging for heavy-duty electric vehicles.
The new charging site, strategically located in the Zwolle Business Park near major Dutch highways and key transport routes to Germany, includes nine charging bays. Eight are equipped with four covered Combined Charging System (CCS) chargers, while the ninth hosts the first operational MCS in the Netherlands. The MCS system, powered by a Power Electronics tower, offers up to 3.75 megawatts (MW) of DC output, enabling full truck charges in 30 to 45 minutes.

Charging rates begin at €0.399 per kilowatt-hour, excluding VAT, for both CCS and MCS connectors. Milence emphasized that availability, rather than cost, will be the primary limitation for use of the MCS charger. The site also includes amenities for drivers such as showers, restrooms, a lounge area, WiFi, and vending machines. Security features include fencing and camera surveillance.
“With the first green corridors taking shape, the path to sustainable logistics is becoming real,” said Anja van Niersen, CEO of Milence. “Utilisation is now key. To scale this transformation, we have to start driving electric and we invite transport companies to learn, adapt and grow with us.”

The Zwolle hub forms part of a broader Milence strategy to deploy at least 284 MCS charging points across 71 locations in 10 European Union countries by 2027. The site is the first in a planned logistics corridor that will connect the Belgian port city of Antwerp with Stockholm, Sweden.
