RoboSense, a developer of AI-driven robotics technology, has introduced a 192-beam digital LiDAR unit, aiming to set a new benchmark in automotive sensor technology as automakers continue to invest in advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The new product, known as EMX, is designed to offer enhanced accuracy, integration, and environmental resilience in a compact form factor.
The EMX system delivers 2.88 million data points per second through its high-density scanning capabilities and supports a detection range of up to 300 meters. It is capable of recognizing low-reflectivity objects such as black vehicles within 200 meters and provides a resolution of 0.08°×0.1° across a 140-degree field of view. In addition, the EMX includes an intelligent “Gaze” function that can dynamically adjust scanning density to enhance resolution up to sixfold in targeted areas.

RoboSense stated that the LiDAR is equipped with SPAD-SoC and VCSEL chips, improving signal sensitivity and overall data fidelity. The system operates at a scanning frequency of 20Hz, reducing latency in rapidly changing traffic situations. A fully digital architecture supports modularity, offering configurations of 192, 256, or 384 beams to accommodate various vehicle platforms. The device measures 120mm by 80mm by 30mm, allowing for flexible installation across different vehicle models.
According to a 2024 report by Yole Group, RoboSense held a 26% share of the global LiDAR market. The EMX is the latest addition to the company’s digital LiDAR portfolio, which includes other units such as the E1R and EM4. RoboSense said it has secured design wins from several original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), with production of the EMX scheduled to begin later this year.

The company said it plans to continue tailoring solutions for mass-market and premium autonomous driving applications, positioning itself to meet growing demand for safer and more intelligent mobility systems.
