Chinese LiDAR manufacturer RoboSense Technology has reached a major industry milestone, delivering its one millionth LiDAR unit as it continues to expand into robotics.
The company announced that its one millionth LiDAR rolled off the production line at its Shenzhen facility on February 21 and was delivered to Shanghai-based Humanoid Robot on February 24. RoboSense claims it is the first company globally to reach the one-million-unit mark with high-channel LiDAR.

Hong Kong-listed RoboSense is China’s largest LiDAR supplier, with customers including BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), SAIC Motor Corp, Geely Auto, and Toyota. In 2024, it sold 544,200 LiDAR units, up 113% from 256,000 in 2023. Sales for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) accounted for 95.52% of total deliveries, while LiDARs for robotics and other applications contributed 4.48%.
The one-millionth unit, an all-solid-state E1R LiDAR for robotics, was shipped to Humanoid Robot for use in its full-size humanoid robot, the “Qinglong,” which features 43 degrees of freedom and can walk at 1 m/s while carrying 40 kg.

As its automotive business matures, RoboSense is expanding its focus on robotics. The company recently repositioned itself as a “robotics platform company” and has launched new products, including the E1R and Airy LiDARs for robotics, the Active Camera vision system, and Papert 2.0, a humanoid hand.
