Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle arm of China’s Geely Group, unveiled its first hybrid SUV, the Zeekr 9X, on Thursday, combining high-performance features with battery technology designed to bridge the gap between plug-in hybrids and full battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
Debuting on the opening day of the 2025 Shanghai auto show, the Zeekr 9X will officially launch in the third quarter of this year. The company said the vehicle aims to “redefine” the hybrid segment with a pure electric range of over 380 kilometers — the longest of any hybrid SUV currently available globally.

The model is powered by CATL’s (SHE: 300750) Freevoy Battery, which was introduced in late 2024 for hybrid applications and supports 4C fast charging. Zeekr said this technology enables the 9X to deliver a BEV-like driving experience while retaining the extended range and versatility of a hybrid.
The Zeekr 9X accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just three seconds, according to the company, and is equipped with a 2.0T hybrid engine producing 205 kW of power. Dual-chamber air suspension and active stabilizer bars have been added to enhance ride comfort and handling.

In line with Zeekr’s focus on smart mobility, the 9X will come with the company’s G-Pilot H9 autonomous driving system, powered by dual Nvidia Thor chips delivering 1,400 TOPS of computing power. The system includes five LiDAR sensors and supports advanced Level 3 driving capabilities.
Zeekr also confirmed that the SUV’s global launch will coincide with the rollout of V4 ultra-fast charging infrastructure capable of peak charging power up to 1.3 megawatts.
