Geely’s premium electric vehicle brand Zeekr launched its first hybrid model on Sunday, the Zeekr 9X, marking a push into the luxury SUV segment as it seeks to expand beyond battery-only vehicles.
The six-seat full-size SUV starts at RMB 465,900 ($65,440), with an effective entry price of RMB 455,900 after a limited-time RMB 10,000 trade-in discount. Deliveries will begin on Sept. 30, though one version is scheduled for November. The four available trims are priced at RMB 455,900, RMB 485,900, RMB 559,900 and RMB 599,900.

Zeekr said the 9X secured strong interest ahead of launch. Geely senior vice president Victor Yang wrote on Weibo that the model received “over 10,000 firm orders within its first 13 minutes” after opening and nearly 80,000 pre-orders over the past month.
Built on Zeekr’s SEA-S platform, the 9X combines a 2.0T engine with a high-voltage 900-volt hybrid system. Its three silicon carbide motors deliver up to 1,030 kW (1,381 horsepower), enabling 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.1 seconds. Customers can choose between 55 kWh and 70 kWh battery packs, with CLTC ranges of 300–380 km and fast-charging capability from 20–80% in about nine minutes.

The two lower-priced variants include a single Nvidia Drive Thor-U chip with 700 TOPS of computing power, while higher trims feature dual chips and Zeekr’s G-Pilot H9 driver-assistance system, supporting Level 3 autonomous driving.
The 9X follows the luxury Zeekr 009 MPV, which starts at RMB 899,000, but targets the larger SUV market that could significantly boost sales. Zeekr has also started pre-sales for the updated Zeekr 001 shooting brake, scheduled for launch on Oct. 11.
