Zeekr has initiated a crowdfunding campaign in China to allow owners of older 2024 Zeekr 001 and 009 vehicles to upgrade their driver-assistance systems, Autohome reported. The initiative targets vehicles currently equipped with the Mobileye EyeQ5H platform, which delivers 48 TOPS of computing power, and offers an upgrade to Zeekr’s in-house G-Pilot H7 system built on Nvidia’s Drive Thor-U architecture, capable of up to 700 TOPS.

The campaign runs from November 24 to December 24, 2025, and aims to reach more than 70,000 eligible vehicles. The upgrade is priced at 13,500 yuan (approximately 1,900 USD) for the 001, requiring at least 3,000 participants, and 18,500 yuan (around 2,600 USD) for the 009, with a minimum target of 1,500 contributors.

Zeekr will cover development costs and part of the hardware expenses, with owners expected to pay up to 15,000 yuan (≈ 2,100 USD) for the 001 and 20,000 yuan (≈ 2,800 USD) for the 009 after applying internal “ADAS benefit vouchers.”

The upgrade involves a major hardware and software overhaul, including chip replacements, rewiring harnesses, and re-architecting system deployments. Zeekr noted that each 001 retrofit requires nearly 60 individual parts and more than 20 hours of labor, with hardware alone valued at over 30,000 yuan (≈ 4,200 USD). The company spent roughly 200 million yuan (≈ 28 million USD) during early development to validate the concept.

To ease costs for owners, Zeekr is offering a 20,000 yuan (≈ 2,800 USD) “ADAS Voucher” to first-owners of non-H7 001 and 009 models. The voucher can either be applied toward the crowdfunding upgrade or, before the end of 2030, toward the down payment of a new Zeekr vehicle equipped with G-Pilot H7.

The campaign is part of Zeekr’s broader strategy to maintain customer trust amid accelerated model renewals. Several owners have publicly described the initiative as “sincere” and a demonstration of the brand’s commitment to keeping existing customers technologically current.
