Xpeng will launch its next-generation P7 sedan in China on August 27, with deliveries beginning immediately after the official unveiling. The company is seeking to strengthen its position in the competitive mid-range electric vehicle market.
The all-new P7 was unveiled earlier this month, when pre-sales began without official pricing. Customers who placed a small deposit were offered discounts at final payment, and the model attracted more than 10,000 pre-orders within minutes of sales opening.
Xpeng is targeting monthly deliveries of more than 40,000 units from September and expects the P7 to become one of the top three pure electric sedans priced below RMB 300,000. The launch also signals a shift in its product strategy, with greater emphasis on both advanced technology and vehicle aesthetics.
The first-generation P7, launched in 2020, has been one of Xpeng’s best-selling models, accounting for the majority of its sales in 2021 and 2022. The new version aims to attract younger consumers with a sportier design and performance-focused features. Earlier this month, the model completed a 24-hour endurance drive of 3,961 kilometers, surpassing a distance record recently set by Xiaomi’s YU7 SUV.
