Xpeng unveiled its next-generation P7 electric sedan in Europe on Tuesday, showcasing the vehicle ahead of the IAA Mobility 2025 auto show in Munich, as the Chinese automaker looks to strengthen its position in overseas markets.
“The Next P7 makes its European premiere, right here in Munich — where stunning design meets cutting-edge technology to redefine electric driving,” Xpeng said in a statement on social media platform X. The company will hold a global livestream of the event on Sept. 8.
The model, first launched in China on Aug. 27, features a redesigned exterior and integrates the company’s in-house developed Turing AI chip for smart driving. Equipped with three Turing chips, the sedan delivers a computing power of 2,250 TOPS, with two chips dedicated to autonomous driving functions and one powering in-car services.
Xpeng offers four versions of the new P7, priced from RMB 219,800 ($30,770) to RMB 301,800, undercutting Tesla’s Model 3 in China, which starts at RMB 235,500. Deliveries began in China on Aug. 28, with company chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng among the first customers.
Xpeng delivered 37,709 vehicles in August, up 169% from a year earlier and 2.7% from July, marking a record high for the second consecutive month. The company expects to exceed 40,000 deliveries in September, He said in a social media post this week.
Other Chinese automakers, including Leapmotor, are also set to present models at the Munich event as competition intensifies in Europe’s electric vehicle market.
