Xiaomi President Lu Weibing said on Monday that the company is targeting 2027 to begin selling its electric vehicles overseas, according to Chinese media outlet Jiemian.
“I’ll set a goal – I’m hopeful that in 2027 we will officially be able to start going abroad,” Lu said in a group interview during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Xiaomi, the world’s third-largest smartphone maker, entered the automotive sector last year with its SU7 electric sedan and has since expanded its lineup. The company recently introduced the SU7 Ultra, a high-performance version aimed at the luxury EV market. Priced at 529,900 yuan ($72,932), the model is 35% cheaper than its initial pre-sale price of 814,900 yuan.
The SU7 Ultra features a tri-motor system delivering 1,548 horsepower, enabling acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h. Equipped with a 93.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, it offers a CLTC range of up to 630 kilometers and supports fast charging, reaching 80% capacity in 11 minutes.

Xiaomi’s SU7 recorded monthly deliveries surpassing 20,000 units in February, marking the fifth consecutive month above that threshold. Since its launch on March 28, 2024, cumulative deliveries have exceeded 180,000 units. “We will continue to expand our production capacity and thank you for your support,” Xiaomi EV stated, without disclosing an exact figure for February.
