Xiaomi EV has filed for regulatory approval of a new dual-motor variant of its upcoming YU7 SUV, marking the third version of the model submitted for clearance.
The filing appears in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s (MIIT) latest regulatory catalog, open for public feedback from February 20-26. Inclusion in the catalog is one of the final steps before a model can be sold in the Chinese market.

The YU7, Xiaomi’s second electric vehicle following the SU7 sedan, first appeared in an MIIT filing on December 9, 2023, as a more powerful dual-motor version with peak outputs of 220 kW (front) and 288 kW (rear). A single-motor variant with a 235 kW rear motor was added to the catalog on January 10.
According to a separate government listing two days ago, the YU7 boasts a CLTC range of up to 820 km, reinforcing its position as a competitive new entry in China’s electric SUV segment. Xiaomi previously announced that the YU7 is expected to launch between June and July this year.
