The Volvo rose from its long “sleep”. This is the latest XC40, successor to the previous model but comes with a new face and offers an environmentally friendly power source.

The presence of the SUV is a step towards an all-electric future, or at least a kind of hybridization. Volvo also has ambitions to take a piece of the cake for electric car lovers in Elon Musk’s country of origin. It is known, apart from General Motors, Tesla Motor, there is also Lucid who is currently a player in the US electric car segment.

For that, Volvo offers two types of XC40, standard model (hybrid) and pure electric. Refreshments will include a new styling update, an all-hybrid powertrain lineup for the XC40, and the introduction of a Google-based infotainment system to the rest of the XC40 lineup.

The all-electric XC40 Recharge will also feature new leatherless seat options, new exterior colors and wheel options.

“As we move towards a fully electric company, our design language follows. With the updated fully electric XC40.” said Robin Page, head of design at Volvo Cars.

The 5-seater SUV providing built-in Google Automotive infotainment, which was standard on the (recharge) model, will now be standard issue across the XC40 lineup for 2023 production, promising a seamless transition between the home, phone and in-car digital realms.
