Volkswagen’s ID.Buzz minivan EV will make debut on March 9th

VW Group chief Herbert Diess has announced that Volkswagen’s ID.Buzz minivan EV will make its debut March 9.

In his Tweet, Herbert Diess did not provide detailed images of the long-awaited van. All that appears is a hand-drawn animation of Volkswagen’s ID.Buzz and the date of its introduction.

From several teasers that appeared before, the minivan design has a retro design line without losing the classic aspect of the legendary old model.

The ID.Buzz is inspired by the iconic Type 2 Microbus that was introduced in the 1950s, and its design will be appropriately retro.

ID.Buzz is expected to launch in Europe later in 2022, and reach America in 2023.

Pricing is expected to start around $40,000, and both single- and dual-motor versions should be available.

ID.Buzz has several models starting with a rear-wheel drive model offering up to 200HP, while the range-topper can include AWD and 300HP.
