Tesla Model 3 become 2nd best-selling vehicle in UK by 2021

Tesla Model 3 is reportedly the UK’s best-selling vehicle. Sales of the Model 3 electric car only lost to the Vauxhall Corsa in the Queen Elizabeth country’s automotive market.

The car sales figures throughout 2021 make the electric car able to occupy the top two positions in the British automotive market. It came after the Tesla Model 3 was considered the most affordable electric vehicle.

In 2021, sales of Tesla Model 3 cars managed to beat several popular vehicles such as the Volkswagen Polo and Golf, Ford Fiesta and Puma, Kia Sportage and Toyota Yaris in the UK market.

According to a report from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), 190,000 EVs were sold in the UK auto market. The Tesla Model 3 is also rumored to be the first EV to enter the top 10 list of overall car sales.

Although car sales in the UK had deteriorated during the Covid-19 pandemic and the chip crisis, the Tesla Model 3 was in high demand. The reason is that local people have started to switch to using battery-powered vehicles.

Apart from that, Tesla itself is rumored to be working on more affordable products to enter newer markets. This has been confirmed directly by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
