At the launch of 5 VinFast electric cars at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2022, Le Thi Thu Thuy as CEO of VinFast Global, announced a strategic and bold move from the Vietnam Automotive Start-up.

VinFast has decided to become a company that produces only fully electric cars before 2022 ends.

This means that VinFast will stop producing fuel-engined cars at least by the end of 2022. Then become a company that only makes EV cars like Tesla.

VinFast will focus its research and development efforts on all-electric powertrains for their vehicles.

This bold move makes VinFast one of the first auto companies in the world to completely switch to pure electric cars, underscoring its ambition to be a leader in the global EV revolution.

“VinFast will officially become a 100% Electric car Company by the end of 2022,” said Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairman of Vingroup and CEO of VinFast Global.

“We aspire to greater achievements, which is to become one of the world's leading electric vehicle manufacturers, while inspiring our customers to unite without boundaries, and join hands in the electric vehicle revolution, creating a sustainable future for all,” said Le Thi Thu Thuy.

Proving its commitment to becoming an electric car manufacturer, VinFast launched an electric SUV to fill 5 segments at the same time at CES 2022, namely VF5 (segment A), VF6 (segment B) and VF7 (segment C), VF8 (segment D) and VF9 (segment). E).

Le Thi Thu Thuy also said that VinFast will build a Gigafactory in the US, in addition to a battery cell factory in Vietnam that is under construction. VinFast plans to start production of electric cars in the US by the end of 2024.

VinFast's move to become a full-fledged EV manufacturer is very reasonable, because EV is the mobility of the future, while combustion engine technology is at the end of its age.

VinFast also has no history as a car manufacturer with ICE engines, so there is no heritage or values that must be maintained regarding ICE engine technology. Stepping quickly into the EV industry is a must, although it may be considered risky by most people.
