Volkswagen has introduced the ID. Every1, a concept for an entry-level electric vehicle aimed at making EVs more accessible to a wider audience.
The compact hatchback is expected to enter production in 2027 at the company’s Wolfsburg facility, with a projected starting price of €20,000 ($21,500). The automaker positions the model as part of its strategy to expand its all-electric compact lineup.

Built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, the ID. Every1 features a front-wheel-drive layout with a single electric motor delivering 94 horsepower. The estimated driving range is at least 250 kilometers (156 miles) under the WLTP cycle, while the top speed is set at 130 km/h (80 mph).
The vehicle’s dimensions place it between Volkswagen’s discontinued up! model and the upcoming ID.2, providing a compact footprint suitable for urban mobility.

The design follows a clean and geometric aesthetic, incorporating a long wheelbase and short overhangs for better interior space utilization. The exterior features smooth surfaces, flush door handles, and a distinctive front fascia with a black horizontal panel connecting the headlamps.
At the rear, an illuminated Volkswagen logo integrates with the taillights. The concept also introduces a new design approach that emphasizes balanced proportions and subtle detailing.

Inside, the ID. Every1 aims to offer a functional and user-friendly cabin with a large central display, physical climate controls, and a squared-off steering wheel.
The interior layout includes multiple storage compartments and a movable center console, enhancing practicality. Cargo space measures approximately 305 liters (10.5 cubic feet), which should be sufficient for everyday needs.
