Swedish electric scooter hire company Voi is expanding its micromobility offering with the launch of three new electric vehicles. The fleet expansion, which includes a new e-scooter and two e-bikes, is set to increase Voi’s total vehicle count by around 40% across European cities.
The first deliveries of the new models—the Voiager 8 e-scooter, the Explorer 4 e-bike, and the lightweight Explorer Light 1—are expected this month. Voi CEO and co-founder Fredrik Hjelm highlighted the company’s expansion plans, stating, “In 2025, we are taking it to the next level. We are accelerating our presence across key markets, including the UK, Germany, and France, with further expansion on the horizon. More and more cities across Europe are envisioning both shared e-scooters and e-bikes as key elements in their mobility offering and view micromobility as an extension of their public transit system.”

The Voiager 8 builds on the design of its predecessor, the Voiager 7, with an improved riding experience featuring a wider footboard, dual displays, and enhanced parking and positioning accuracy. Voi claims the new model has 54% lower power consumption, extending battery life and reducing operational impact. The Voiager 8 will debut in selected cities, including Munich, where it will replace the current fleet of 4,000 e-scooters. Reports suggest the model has a range of over 100 kilometers.
Voi’s new e-bike lineup includes the Explorer 4, designed for urban transport with improved comfort and convenience. The bike features a 10kg-capacity basket, a softer saddle, and enhanced seat adjustment. It will be launched in Belgium, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. Meanwhile, the Explorer Light 1 is a prototype 25% lighter than conventional e-bikes, aimed at making micromobility more accessible. This model will be trialed exclusively in the UK.

Voi plans further expansion in 2025, having recently launched in Le Havre, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, and Mannheim, along with new e-bikes in London and Cambridge. “2025 will be a year of significant expansion, but with a disciplined approach,” said Christina Moe Gjerde, VP of Northern Europe at Voi. The company aims to accelerate its launch pace in the second quarter, introducing its vehicles to even more cities.
