Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has launched bookings for its VF MPV 7 in India, a seven-seat electric multipurpose vehicle, as it expands its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing auto markets.

The model is available for booking with a fee of 21,000 Indian rupees starting April 2 through the company’s website and 50 authorised dealerships nationwide. VinFast said the official launch and full pricing announcement are scheduled for April 15, 2026.

The VF MPV 7 measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width and 1,734 mm in height, with a 2,840 mm wheelbase. It is equipped with a 60.13 kWh battery, offering a claimed driving range of more than 500 km on a full charge. The vehicle supports fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in around 30 minutes.

“The VF MPV 7 marks another step forward in VinFast’s efforts to win over Indian consumers with modern, practical, and accessible electric mobility solutions,” said Tapan Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer of VinFast India. “We believe this model will help redefine standards in its segment and become an ideal choice for families seeking a clean mobility solution that meets everyday practicality.”

The MPV becomes VinFast’s third model in India, following the launch of the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs in September 2025. The company has been expanding its dealership and after-sales network and partnering with local financial institutions to support vehicle financing.

VinFast is also offering free charging through its V-Green network until March 31, 2029, as part of efforts to attract early adopters.

The expansion in India forms part of the company’s broader global growth strategy. VinFast previously said it plans to enter India’s electric scooter and electric bus segments while strengthening its local manufacturing footprint.

Last year, the company launched the VF 6 and VF 7 with introductory pricing aimed at competing with rivals such as Tesla and BYD. The VF 6 was priced at 1.51 million rupees ($18,127), while the VF 7 started at 1.89 million rupees ($22,659), undercutting higher-priced offerings such as Tesla’s Model Y in the Indian market.

VinFast began operations at its manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, in July after investing $500 million.
