Vauxhall has unveiled a one-off electric van concept featuring a built-in tea-making station, combining its Vivaro Electric model with a kettle, refrigerator, sink and sugar dispenser to reflect the daily habits of British tradespeople.
The concept, named the “Electrici-TEA,” is based on the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric and is intended as a showcase rather than a production vehicle. The company said the model was created to underline the importance of tea breaks in working life, while most customers would still need to install their own equipment for hot drinks.

Vauxhall cited consumer research showing that about 100 million cups of tea are consumed daily in Britain. The same survey indicated that 46% of tradespeople drink three to four cups per day, nearly a quarter consume five to six cups, and 6% drink seven or more. The company also found that the ideal brewing time preferred by most tradespeople is one minute and 53 seconds.
The Vivaro Electric is powered by a 75 kWh battery, offering a WLTP-certified range of up to 219 miles and rapid charging capability that restores 5% to 80% of capacity in around 45 minutes. With a load volume of up to 6.6 cubic metres, the van remains targeted at professional users despite the novelty concept.

“With 90% of tradespeople saying that a good hot drink has a positive impact on their day, we wanted to create the ultimate tea-making solution for the thirsty tradespeople of Britain,” said Steve Catlin, Vauxhall’s Managing Director, adding that the Electrici-TEA concept was designed to demonstrate how electric vans can combine work utility with everyday comforts.
