Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) officially marketed its newest low-emission vehicle, the Prius Series Parallel Hybrid (HEV) in Japan.
Consisting of three variants with two engine options, 1.8L and 2.0L, this modern crossover car comes with a fifth generation hybrid system. This is a form of promotion for the company towards carbon neutrality which is starting to get busy globally.
Reporting from the official Toyota Global website, it is stated that embedding related technology is also to reduce fuel consumption (BBM). This is because the level of efficiency in related vehicles is so economical compared to before.
Furthermore, it is stated that the Prius 2.0 L achieves an increase in fuel efficiency of 28.6 kpl and a maximum power of 144 kW or 196 PS, this figure is 1.6 times higher than the previous model.
Meanwhile, the efficiency of the 1.8-liter Prius is claimed to reach 32.6 kpl. Very high when looking at similar vehicles with combustion engines whose average consumption is at the level of 15 kpl.
With the new E-Four system, the vehicle offers better performance on low-friction road surfaces. Such as snow-covered roads and better stability when turning.
In addition, the Toyota Prius HEV is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense’s advanced safety technology, including the Advanced Safety System, with an expanded range of objects that can be detected.
Additional safety features are also available in this model, such as the Blind Spot Monitor which can tell the distance to the vehicle behind you.
Then the secondary collision car brakes, which also uses the Blind Spot Monitor. Regarding the price, the Toyota Prius HEV is priced starting at 2,750,000 yen to 3,920,000 yen.
It didn’t stop there, on the same occasion it was stated that TMC plans to introduce a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) version of the Prius around March 2023.
